Pecan Nuts Market Update
We have seen several factors that could trigger a more upward trend in the Pecan market, which has been steady in the first months of this year.
As compared to the same time last year, shipments increased by 14% from September 2020 to the end of February 2021.
We expect this percentage to rise as more export commitments are signed.
Cold storage inventory levels are poor compared to previous years, which may result in some supply constraints as the year progresses.
Some packers may not be able to sell the 2020 crop in the United States by August.
In this scenario, the new crop of South African Pecan would be more appealing. From June onwards, these can be delivered.
We recommend that you cover your short-term needs before the latest South African content arrives on the market.
