2020 FIG CROP REPORT

In 2019 the estimated export was around 62.000MT between 26th September 2019 – 7th of July 2020. Estimated local sales is around 10-15.000 MT. Assuming For the rest of the season; From 7th July 2020- till first shipment date September 2020, around 3-5.000MT of export will take place, there will be 0 carryover from the 2019 crop/ leaving total consumption at 80.000MT as per the crop estimation.

The official report for 2020 fig new crop has yet to be released. However, there has been rumors of a crop total of 70.000mt – 75.000MT. Winter rains were below the expectations in some northern side fig orchards, the fruit are lower in quantity. In comparison to southern side fig orchards where the fruit quantities on trees are alike the 2019 crop.

Although it is too early to talk about the result of the 2020 crop. It is expected that it will be of good quality however potentially 10% less compared to 2019 crop, providing the weather conditions are good throughout September. The official crop report will probably be announced on the first week of August, we will be sure to update you then also!
