Shipments up to September 30th are 120.881 tons in-shell basis, 1% higher than the same date last year.

India has again become the main destination with more than 19.881 metric tons in-shell basis, representing an increase of 7% compared to last year, followed by Turkey, U.A.E, Spain, and Italy.

Shelled walnut shipments have increased by 5% compared to the previous season, with a 13% increase in Spain and 3% decrease in Germany. Inshell shipments are down 1%.

Commitments till October 15th are 87.2%, with still some products available. Due to lower prices, problems with the quality in California, lockdown in productive areas in China affecting the transit time, and mold problems in part of the Chinese production, there was a big increase in sales during the last month and is expected to be similar during the coming weeks.

 

Inshell equivalent shipments till September 30" is 7,4% higher compared to last year, mainly because of low prices levels. The volume was expected to be higher in California, but the frost damage in some orchards, dry conditions during winter, and extreme heat during summer, affected the projected forecast. California’s forecast for the crop 2022 is 1% lower compared to the crop 2021.
