Dried figs: price corrections after the turn of the year

AYDIN. Shortly before the turn of the year, prices for Turkish dried figs are holding their level. However, this could change soon. Exports are at a similar level as last year.

Exports similar to last year

The Turkish dried fig market is relatively relaxed. Exports are proceeding at a similar pace to last year, with 2,086 mt of dried figs and dried fig products shipped overseas last week, almost 300 mt less than in the previous week. In total, since the beginning of the season, exports have come to 21,235 mt, a good 1,000 mt less than last year. The export value in the first months of the new season is said to have reached a result of 56.42 mt.

In the 2021/2022 season, Turkish exporters shipped 70,647 mt of dried figs and dried fig products to around 97 countries. The most important customer countries were the UK, Germany, and France.
