February Market Report - Figs
Fig growers seem to have already ended their sales. They have no raw material on hand to sell any more. Also traders have very small amounts of raw materials at their disposal. As we enter the Ramadan season, we see a growing demand for dried figs as well. The lower supply of raw materials in stocks has contributed to a very sharp rise in prices over the past week.
A total of 1.450.409 KG of dried figs are exported from Turkey on a weekly basis (between 31.1.2021 and 06.2.2021).
As a whole, 38,080,813 KG of Turkish dried figs will be exported from 30 September 2020 to 06 February 2021. The amount listed is 1.567,333 MT lower than the due date of the previous year. On exports, the USA is in first place (5,674 MT) for imports of dried figs from Turkey, the second being Germany, the third being France.
