Market Update: Mango, Papaya, Ginger, Cantaloupe
Mango
The suppliers are approaching the end crop within May. The current supply year remains better compared to Y2021.
Ginger
Farmers started to plant for the incoming crop during Sept-Nov. But based on the initial survey, it seems that farmers tend to grow less this year as ginger is one of the fruits that need high fertilizer or, in a way, requires higher plantation (investment), and the drop in price during the Y2021 crop.
However, we should see a more precise picture of this new crop in early June.
Coconut
The supply remains less & not much changes from April 2022. The peak season for coconut will be in Q3.
Cantaloupe
Still, the supply remains less due to the lack of labor for plantations and harvest.
