South African Thompson Raisins, Crop Report

It seems that the upcoming harvest may be smaller than the latest crop estimates from SA Raisins, with rumors in SA suggesting a harvest as low as 55,000MT. Many farmers have experienced significant crop losses, up to 40-50%. Additionally, many farmers are currently drying their Goldens, which could impact the overall amount of TSR available.

Overall, we can expect a small crop with very good quality, which suggests that TSR prices may increase throughout the season rather than decrease.

Turkey has also faced challenges during their harvest, with significant rainfall potentially impacting their Sultanas with sugaring. Global demand, Turkish prices, and the quality of the current crop will also impact the situation. Furthermore, the impact of the tragic earthquake on business is still to be seen, making the upcoming times even more challenging.
