TREE NUTS MARKET REPORT - CASHEWS

The Vietnamese New Year holidays are underway and the usual decline in operation by processors and buyers during this time has been demonstrated in recent weeks. Throughout January, the initial prices were steadily soft and hit lows that were last seen about a year ago. On the contrary, the supply of the European spot for high-quality wholes and pieces is beginning to be very limited.

The problem obviously lies with the challenges in the supply chain that have impacted several different industries. Bookings and containers are difficult to procure and often confirmed reservations are delayed even then. For shipments of origin, the additional delay is usually about 2-4 weeks.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the new raw cashew nut season looks promising and, close to harvest, the average quality in the main producing countries looks persuasive.
